Yesterday, June 2, 2018, was a great day for AQUAS.
We had four scholar-athletes from the same school graduate and all are beginning the next chapter in their young lives at the college of their choice! The celebration was on at KIPP University Prep as Jalen Smith and the three Cadena triplets received their diplomas.
Incidentally, the whole class at this school is the first of any school in San Antonio that graduated students that all had participated in the International Baccalaureate program during their high school years. In the past, the IB program could only be found in schools attended by the more financially fortunate but this charter school submerged their students in this most difficult of courses.
100 % of these young men and women got accepted to college! Kudos to Mark Larson, CEO/Superintendent of KIPP San Antonio and Co-principals Abby Morton-Garland and Tina DeValk for having the foresight and commitment o take this daring challenge to expose the students of the Class of 2018. These young people are ready for college!
