The Valero Texas Open (VTO) is upon us and players will be teeing off on April 20th! This year AQUAS has been invited to participate in their fund raising effort…Birdies for Charity.

We invite you to support AQUAS through Birdies for Charity®, an exciting fundraising program linked to the Valero Texas Open, the 3rd oldest tournament on the PGA TOUR schedule. Our fundraising goal from Birdies for Charity is $25,000 and your contribution will get us off to a great start.

Who is Aquas…

AQUAS is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to identify, sponsor and mentor underprivileged high school scholar-athletes with the goal of securing academic and/or athletic scholarships so they can realize their dream of a college education. Since its inception in 2009, AQUAS has helped 42 students receive more than $6,000,000 in scholarship offers – all for just $2,500 per student. A donation of $2500 per student enables AQUAS to promote an underprivileged athletic student successfully, helping each one secure the scholarship monies necessary to achieve a college education.

How AQUAS will benefit…
We will receive 100% of every penny we raise through Birdies for Charity. This money will be totally dedicated to finding our selected scholar athletes financial support so that they can realize their dream of earning a college degree. If we reach our goal here it means we can enroll 10 more students in the AQUAS program. Depending on how well we do, we can earn additional “Bonus Money” provided by the Valero Texas Open. They even provide a 7% match to make your donation even grow further!

How Birdies for Charity works…

You can make a minimum pledge of one penny or more per birdie. The value of your pledge is based on the number of birdies made during the Valero Texas Open. Or you can make a flat contribution; with $20 being the suggested minimum – but any amount is welcomed and appreciated. Your company can also contribute using the same method. Any individual or corporation that donates $1,000+ or pledges $.75+ per birdie becomes a member of a special Birdies Club and gets 4 Good Any One Day general admission tickets to the tournament and recognized on a sponsor sign displayed in the Gatorade Fan Fest during tournament week.

You can make your donation or pledge on-line by going to:

– You can make a contribution online today

– Or you can make your commitment today and after the tournament, Valero Texas Open will bill you in May for the amount of your commitment.

“Guess the Birdies” and a Stay-and-Play Package could be yours…

To add sizzle to the program, you can guess how many birdies will be made during the Valero Texas Open. If your guess is correct, you could win a Stay-and Play Package to JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country and TPC San Antonio. In the event of a tie, a tie- breaker event will determine the winner. And if no one guesses correctly, the computer will randomly select a winner… and it may just pick your name!

Attend the Valero Texas Open to Help Us Win $20,000!…

All donors from the Birdies for Charity program that attend the Valero Texas Open and check-in at the Donation Station at the main entrance will automatically be entered into a drawing. If your name is drawn as the winner, our charity will win $20,000! If you attend all four days, you get four entries. And if you help us win the $20,000 donation, you will also receive a cool prize from the Valero Texas Open!! The dates of the tournament at the TPC San Antonio course are April 20 – 23 2017 but you can donate RIGHT NOW.

How YOU will make an impact…

Through private donors like you, in the past five years we have secured $100,000+. As a result our students have received over $6 million offers of scholarships. Currently 42 scholar athletes are in or through the AQUAS Program. Since our costs are $2500/student, the return on investment here is remarkable.
